YOGI

DANIEL BLAKEMAN YOGA

Immersed in academics and a student & practitioner of Western relaxation therapies, neuropsychology, and biological/behavioral based theories;Daniel’s recent studies and experiences are colored with the Eastern traditions. Yoga classes with Daniel demonstrate a wide range of influence and a deep familiarity with modern and ancient yogic styles. He is as equally adept at creating a meditative, calming environment as he is at charging up a yoga studio space with energy of movement and synchronicity.

Daniel demonstrates ability to completely immerse students in meditative reflections during his Meditation and Vinyasa classes.  Daniel has become known for his ability to design and create distinct choreography, sequencing, and creativity. His approach to designing flows with intelligent postural linkage assures the students that layers of thought have gone into each particular class.  His teaching style is accepting and encouraging, rather than demanding or absolute.

Daniel’s experience and passion are noticeably shared in the studio with his students.

"Daniel Blakeman has been my yoga instructor for over three years. I have been practicing yoga for 14 years and am a certified yoga instructor- Daniel is by far one of the most skilled yoga instructors I've studied under. Daniel consistently designs unique and challenging flows that keep me interested mentally and challenged physically (and mentally)! His classes are accessible to all individuals, regardless of yoga experience or physical limitations. His demeanor makes students feel comfortable and safe, even when practicing poses that might be new or particularly challenging. He is in top 1% of instructors I've ever encountered!"

"I have been practicing yoga with Daniel for nearly 4 years now, and he is an incredible teacher! I have learned so much from him over these years. His classes are always different and each class presents new challenges. At the same time, he makes everyone feel comfortable, regardless of skill level, and offers alternatives suitable for everyone. In fact, I was able to take his classes throughout my pregnancy, up until a couple of weeks before I delivered, even though they were not technically "prenatal yoga" classes. He is always interested in suggestions and will incorporate a new pose when requested, and does a great job of arranging the class so as to work up to a new or difficult pose. He is a great teacher and a wonderful person to be around!"

"Daniel's was one of the first yoga classes I had ever attended - and those first few classes I felt so awkward in my own body and just getting used to the names of postures and how to do them was a challenge. Daniel's patience and encouragement of all students - new or experienced - is what kept me motivated and inspired to return. That, as well as the creativity and uniqueness of his classes - every class is different and includes interesting and challenging flow sequences, and the greatest music I've ever heard in a yoga class! Since those first few days in his class, I've become a regular yogi, and a certified yoga teacher myself - all thanks to the inspiration and encouragement I've received from Daniel. As I've progressed in my yoga journey, I've had many teachers who have taught me so much, but the only one I consistently go back to is Daniel - he always has something new and exciting to teach!"

"Daniel’s is such a wonderfully focused and dedicated yoga instructor. With his no nonsense and quiet approach leading the way, individuals are free to find their own space and openness. Daniel’s classes can be both restorative and challenging, and he seems just as agile in his conception of unique vinyasa flows as he is at extending his knowledge of alignment and attentiveness. Whether through his original (and fun!) sequences or when introducing rare poses, he gives those practicing the chance to see new patterns, experience possibilities, and explore the truly limitless potential of pure movement and focus. After a class, my body is wide awake and I truly feel quiet and calm, with any wisdom that I do have, more intact. Daniel fosters a space for that, and he does so by keeping his business to asanas and letting his students discover their yoga. Namaste."

"I always always always look forward to Mondays, because of Daniel's morning vinyasa class that I attend. It's always different, it's always refreshing, it's always challenging and new. Most importantly, I feel a deep sense of serenity after each class that I can't find in other yoga teachers. He's fantastic."
